About the Event

The UNC Tax Summit is a continuing education event for accountants and lawyers to earn 8.4 CPE and/or 7 CLE credits. The event will take place at the Friday Conference Center located in Chapel Hill, NC.  Twelve knowledgeable speakers will discuss local, state, and federal tax policy issues and their legal implications, in addition to a session devoted to professional conduct in business communications.

Our keynote speaker will be the Internal Revenue Service Commissioner and UNC Alumnus, Danny Werfel. Additional confirmed speakers include: Nita Asher, Ellen Balfrey, Richard Blumenreich, David Brunori, Scott Dyreng, Gary Hecimovich, James Holmes, Rohit Kumar, Bruce McGovern, Deanne Morton, and Kevin Stults.

A networking reception will take place after the event.

Participants will:

  • Gain awareness of recently enacted federal tax legislation and consider possible future tax policy developments.
  • Learn about Inflation Reduction Act Tax Incentives from industry, academic, private, and policy experts.
  • Learn about the most significant statutory enactments, judicial decisions, IRS rulings, and Treasury regulations promulgated during the last twelve months that affect general domestic income taxation, corporate taxation, partnership taxation, and tax procedure.
